United fielded a strong Under-Nineteen teamto face Goole and it remained goalless until Harpla Singh cut in from the left and scored with a low shot five minutes before half-time. Cotton equalized for Goole in the injury-time at the close of the first half. Eight minutes into the second half Harpal Singh took a corner on the left and found Craig Farrell just a couple of yards from the far post and he was able to turn and volley a shot into the roof of the net for the winner. The home keeper was responsible for keeping Goole in the game when he came out to deny Simon Johnson and then Caleb Folan when they seemed through and then he did well to pull off two fine saves from first Simon Johnson and then Anthony Lennon when each had speculative lobs. Kamara replaced Caleb Folan at Centre Forward after seventy-five minutes. Gerard McCargo, Paul Murphy and Breen remain on the bench unused.
